On track in the capital city: General Manager Oliver Titius.
Coming soon to Berlin: Germany’s widest selection.
When will the new store in Berlin be open for business?
We don’t have an official date yet, but we are very optimistic that the Berlin market will be open by the end of 2013.
We had been searching for new locations for some time. There were two, three other cities that made it to the final round. But we chose Berlin for two reasons. Firstly: Berlin is a very interesting city that continues to grow at a very fast pace. They have a yearly increase in visitors of 10%, which means that they have a very high concentration of hotels and restaurants. And secondly, we found an ideal downtown location – which is very important for our customers: drive time is an important factor.
Why does Berlin need Hamberger?
Because there is no one else there that is as specialized to meet the needs of gastronomes. And then there is the multicultural character of the city itself – I think there is a real demand for a range of products like ours: international, diverse, and of such dependable quality. I’m really looking forward to the challenge and I think that the relationship between Hamberger and Berlin will be a good one.
